MANVIR SINGH NAMED IN 34-MAN PROVISIONAL INDIA SQUAD

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting Club striker Manvir Singh has been named in the 34-man probable list for India senior national team – which will be trimmed down further to a 23-member squad – ahead of the upcoming AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019 qualifier against Macau to be held on 5th September.

The 21-year-old was recently part of the India Under-23 squad which participated in the 2018 AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers held in Doha.

Though India failed to qualify for the AFC U-23 Championship finals to be held in China next year, but Manvir impressed everyone with his performance and even scored against Turkmenistan in India’s 3-1 victory, that earned him his maiden senior national team call up.

The players named by National Team Coach Stephen Constantine would be assembling in Chennai on 11th August for a training camp before participating in the AIFF Champions Cup, which is scheduled to take place in August between India and three other countries from either the AFC, CAF or CONCACAF.
